A natural headache remedy which appears to work for all kinds of headaches – tension, stress, allergy-triggered, hormones (PMS and menopause), migraine, and sinus headaches. If you suffer from headaches it is certainly worth a try.
Frankincense essential oil – said to be effective in relieving the pain caused by headaches because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Relaxing and soothing, calming you down and easing stress, which can prevent a headache from getting worse
Spearmint Essential Oil - is said to be multi-purpose and it continues to be used to soothe ailments such as skin problems, headaches, nausea, vomiting, respiratory issues, and cold symptoms.
Peppermint essential oil – contains menthol, which is said to help your muscles relax and eases pain. It has a pleasant cooling effect on your skin that helps inhibit muscle contractions on the head and neck while stimulating blood flow to that area
Lavender Essential Oil - is said to be used commonly for stress relief and relaxation. There's also strong evidence that lavender can help treat headaches and migraine. The scent from lavender essential oil is also said to help acute management of migraine attacks
Basil Essential Oil - is said to be a muscle relaxant. It is great for treating tension headaches, especially when applied topically. Basil has also been shown to improve blood circulation so it can help deliver oxygen to the brain. So it is also an effective treatment for migraines, hangover headaches, and drug and sugar withdrawal headaches. Plus basil has a calming effective, so it can help reduce any stress or anxiety associated with the headache.
Use: Apply to a tense neck, upper shoulders, temples or any area your headache is coming from as required (be sure to keep clear of eyes).
